I'm a driven 18-year-old who is passionate about the world of new technology. But where development has taken us is not without its challenges. The internet gave us information like running water. It should have made us wiser and made us feel more informed, but unfortunately the reality today is the opposite. 'Fear of missing out' has become part of everyone's everyday life, and we struggle to sort out what is important and relevant. I want to change that. Lagom.news is my first step towards a more balanced and informed everyday life.
The problem and the solution
Staying up to date today takes three steps: knowing what you want to know, finding news about it, and finally having time to read the news. Often the first two steps take more time than the reading itself! And that is exactly why the internet's abundance of information has only increased our “fear of missing out” (FOMO). All current solutions are yet another news aggregator, where you never quite get what you want, and where you have to subscribe to the source to actually read the article.
Lagom News tackles the problem from a completely different angle. We are a digital newspaper where every article you get is tailored to exactly what you want to stay updated on. Lagom AI learns what you want to be informed about, and writes a daily edition with exactly the news that is relevant to you. When you've finished reading, you're done. And can move on with your day.
Business idea
Our business idea is to give those who suffer from “fear of missing out” (FOMO) and constant information overload a tailored, comprehensive edition of AI-written news articles — through an app in the same format as traditional newspapers — that they both want to finish reading and have time to finish reading, every morning. With three pricing tiers, everyone gets access to the news coverage they need and can afford.
